Psalm 110
The Wrath of Christ as priest at the Father's right hand

.
Text
Explanation
.1 <<A Psalm of David.>> The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2  The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
1 - The Lord said unto my Lord Think who David was inspired to write about. He had a Lord, the coming Messiah-Christ. That Lord's Lord was the Father. Notice the promise! The first Lord is from Hebrew, Yhwe. The second is Hebrew, Adonay, which may be used for humans or God. We may see the various names of God to reflect His (or the Son's) purpose rather than being an identity of which is speaking or spoken of. See on ge0204. The unity of Father, Son, and Spirit is beyond our understanding.
2 - Rod of thy strength David is addressing the Messiah re1915.
3  Thy people shall be willing [or "volunteers"] in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
.4  The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
3 - We will participate with Christ in the judgment re2004.
4 - You are priest ... Melchizedek Christ would be priest to minister salvation for us he0506. Notice from upper and lower case letters, who is speaking to whom.
.5 ¶ The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
6  He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
7  He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
