Many men have claimed to be God. But only one Man has ever claimed to be God, and been able to substantiate His claims through supernatural wonders or miracles, and that Man is Christ Jesus. He healed the lame and the blind, healed all manner of diseases, fed five thousand with five loaves and two fish, raised the dead, and calmed a stormy sea. And the greatest miracle of all, He has changed the hearts and lives of millions of people throughout the world, and throughout the ages.
If Jesus had never performed a miracle, nobody probably would have paid any attention to him. But His miracles added authority to His teachings and proved His claim to deity. It forced one to think - how is He able to do such things? When Jesus forgave the sins of the crippled man, He sensed the thoughts of the crowd around Him. He asked them, "Which is easier to say? your sins are forgiven? or arise and walk?" Then Jesus explained, "But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, then saith he to the sick of the palsy, Arise take up thy bed , and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house." (Matthew 9:2-7).
Nicodemus, a member of the Pharisees, came to Jesus and said, "Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him" (John 3:2). But others were clearly divided on the subject, "Many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him? Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?" (John 10:19-21).

The miracles which Jesus did were also done by His disciples and the early church. Jesus said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." (John 14:12).
