"Is any thing too hard for the LORD?" (Genesis 18:14)
"Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee." (Jeremiah 32:17)
God loves to surprise His people. Just when Abraham and Sarah become too old to conceive a child and God's promise seems a distant and fading memory, she suddenly becomes pregnant. Just when David's sin and failure is deemed too great even for God's grace, God suddenly pardons Him. Just when it seems God has forgotten the world, a young Virgin in Bethlehem is visited by an angel with a Holy Proclaimation.
The lesson is clear: no matter how hopeless things may seem, don't give up. Does the road seem to long? Keep on driving. Does the mountain seem to high? Keep on climbing. Even as you read this, the answer could be on the way. The check could be in the mail. Your friend or spouse could be thinking of a way to say, "I'm sorry." The boss could be looking for your phone number to offer you the job. The doctor could be thinking his original diagnosis was wrong.
So don't give up. You will spoil God's surprise.
